Be A Pirate!
Conquered
The Orlando Fringe

“Be A Pirate!” the one man show written and performed by Thom Mesrobian, was named "Best of the Fest" by both Seth Kubersky from The Orlando Weekly and Matt Palm, theatre critic for the Orlando Sentinel. The show had seven performances at International Orlando Fringe Theatre Festival May 17-31, 2022 in the largest venue at the Orlando Shakespeare Center, the 324 seat Margeson Theater.

“Be A Pirate!” also received the coveted "Critics Choice Award" along with the award for "Most Outstanding Marketing" at the awards ceremony on the final night of the festival.

The show tells the humorous and touching story of how young Sammy Perkins became SharkTooth Sam, the pirate rogue. “Be A Pirate!” is directed by longtime collaborator Mark Hartfield and stage managed by Rogue’s resident Stage Manager, Sarah Welton.

Written by Mesrobian during the height of the pandemic, “Be A Pirate!” serves as a thinly veiled autobiography of how he found his true calling in life as a professional actor. He invites audience members to travel to the island of Bocas del Toro and accept the challenge to “Be A Pirate!” because life is too short to be someone else.
